Low Tide?

It's not a great day for surfing the Web. Just can't seem to catch a decent wave on China Telecom's Internet. Everything is loading slowly and some sites are blocked. It seems that the Great Firewall of China is at it again--blocking the harmless sites, sometimes only for a while. Today I have had difficulty getting into Hotmail, Writer's Digest Forums, and Technorati. Two days ago I even had a difficult time accessing my university's e-mail server... from my office. Of course, most of the usual stuff is also blocked. It seems that they have managed to mess with my Firefox proxy that allows me to access blogs hosted by Blogger. This is getting to be really annoying.

SNAFU?

Something is wrong with Blogger and/or the hamster running my Chinese Internet connection. I've been trying to post some photos today for a little post, but it doesn't seem to work. Every time I try to upload a photo I get a blank box. So, until Blogger gets fixed or the hamster gets replaced there will be no more photos. I hope this situation will be rectified in the near future.

More phone issues

So my phone died again. Four times I've had someone come in to fix the damn thing, and it's worked for a total of three days. If they give me any more excuses or try to come back another day, I'm going to shove the phone down their throat. I've had it. I already missed out on my family calling me for my birthday Sunday. And it's almost impossible to make plans when I can't call around and ask what's going on.

I'm now going on the theory that China doesn't understand telephones. Maybe if I tell the repairman that he's incompetent he'll feel embarassed enough to fix the thing.
